Google Pay is here!

  • Add your Luminor card to your Google Pay wallet
  • Pay without removing it from your pocket, both in the store and online

Setting up Google Pay is easy

Download the Google Pay app from the Google Play Store.

Open it and start adding your Luminor card:

Your card is now added to the wallet.

If you have more than one card in your wallet you can choose one card to be default payment method in your wallet by clicking Make default for contactless.

Do not forget to turn on the NFC feature on your phone. 

How do I use Google Pay?

With Google Pay, you can pay anywhere you see a contactless or Google Pay symbol

1. Unlock your smartphone screen.
2. Place the phone against the card terminal and the payment is completed.
3. Payment will be made with card that is set as default card in your wallet.
 
With Google Pay, you can also pay in apps and online stores.

Google Pay can only be used on Android devices running Android 5.0 or higher with NFC enabled.

Private and secure

Paying with Google Pay is secure, as payment is verified based on the number associated with your device and the unique code generated for the payment. Your card details are never stored on your device, on the service provider's server or transmitted to the merchant at the time of payment.

How can I return a product purchased from the store using Google Pay?

The cashier can process the refund in the same way as for a regular credit and debit card payment.

How can I check my recent transactions?

Information about your latest transactions can be seen in the digital wallet application next to a specific card.

How secure is Google Pay?

Google Pay is a secure payment method because during the transaction, your card details are not transferred, but the device-specific ID and unique transaction code.

In addition, a locked device cannot be used for transactions larger than the unidentified transaction limit allows. In Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, this limit is set at EUR 50. For larger amounts and after the third unidentified transaction, the phone must be unlocked using a password, face recognition or fingerprint.

How to use Google Pay securely?

To use Google Pay securely remember the following:

  • Do not allow others to use your phone.
  • Use a more complex password or pattern as a screen lock.
  • Update your mobile phone software regularly. Install an antivirus app on your phone.
  • Use only official stores and be careful when using them. Read the feedback before installing the app.

What happens if my phone is lost or stolen?

Call Luminor Customer Support immediately at +370 5 239 3444 (working hours: I-V 8:00-20:00, VI 9:00-16:00) and request Luminor card to be removed from the Google Pay application on this device. Additionally, you can lock your phone remotely - see instruction here.

Can I continue to use my physical credit and debit card after I have suspended or removed it from Wallet?

Pausing or removing cards from your digital wallet does not close your physical card. You can continue to use it.

Will Mobile payments via Google Pay be disabled when I block my payment card?

No, mobile payments remain active even after payment card is blocked - you must remove your payment card from your digital wallet. You can do it in Google Pay app or by calling to our Customer Service Center +370 5 233 1199 (working hours: I-V 8:00-20:00, VI 9:00-16:00).
