As of 1 September, Nordea, the largest financial services group in the Nordic and Baltic region, introduces new fees for the issuance and handling of payment cards. Some fees have been cut in half.
"Now that we have taken over the Vilnius branch of the Polish bank Kredyt Bank S.A. and expanded our presence from Lithuania's capital to other major cities such as Kaunas, Klaipėda and Panevėžys, our potential customers have significantly increased in number. The revision in prices of such banking instruments as payment cards was a natural process, as we are going to strengthen our efforts in retail banking. Moreover, payments other than in cash are becoming more and more popular even in poorer regions of the country; therefore, we want to make sure that payment and credit cards are affordable for everyone," said Raimondas Rapkevičius, Retail Banking Department Director of Nordea Bank Lithuania.
From September, Maestro payment cards are issued and renewed free of charge (previously 20 litas). The fee for the issuance and renewal of MasterCard/Eurocard Charge card, has been reduced from 80 to 40 litas. Moreover, no fee is charged on the increase or reduction of the credit limit on this card. Also, issuance of the MasterCard/Eurocard credit card has been reduced from 95 to 60 litas, and credit limits can be adjusted free of charge. The price of the MasterCard/Eurocard Gold card has been lowered from 300 to 150 litas.
"These are not the only changes at Nordea Bank that benefit our customers. Among other things, we have reviewed the prices of other banking operations, revised the deposit and lending strategy, and increased the variety of financial instruments," cited Rapkevičius.
