Financial News cites the strong growth in Nordea's business, its investment processes and results as the reasons for the award as Nordic asset management firm of the year.
Financial News has presented Nordea Investment Management with the award for Nordic asset management firm of the year within institutional asset management. The award is decided by a panel of more than 50 pension fund consultants, leading fund managers and providers from across Europe. Nordea was also nominated in the award category for European asset management firm of the year.
"We see the award as confirmation of our business success in recent years. Assets under management have grown sharply, and we have secured an international breakthrough with our products. We are gaining a good deal of new clients within some of our key products, and this is evidence that both in terms of products and investment processes we have picked a good approach," says Henrik Priergaard, Head of Nordea Investment Management.
New institutional accounts have chiefly been added via some of Nordea Investment Management's key products - Private Equity, Hedge Funds, European and Global Equity and European Fixed Income, such as credit, high-yield and emerging market debt. Over the past 18 months to two years, the inflow of assets totals some EUR 3 billion.
Nordea Investment Management is the leading asset manager in the Nordic region with EUR 126 billion (including private banking) under management and is a regional leader in growth of inflows among major Nordic asset managers.
This is the third round of awards for Excellence in Institutional Asset Management by Financial News, the leading weekly newspaper for the European securities, investment banking and asset management industries.
